This one is gear operated. When the crank to the right is turned, the whole sculpture, from the nail bed up, rotates, swinging those various assortments on the ends of those chains around. The objects that are in fact attached to the hanging chains are random things I've picked up (e.g. bear claw, hooks, etc.). One of them happens to be this neat barbed black miniature pitchfork I bought somewhere a while back that is meant to hunt and spear frogs. There are no frogs where I live now, and thus no more pragmatic use for the "frog spear", so on to the sculpture it went! Lucky for the frogs.
